Each+Every: Businesses for Harm Reduction is a voluntary collective.

We are guided by people with lived and living experience, activists and harm reduction workers.

Our Guiding Principles

We recognize that we live, work and play on the territories of Indigenous peoples, the traditional guardians of this land that we call Canada.

We commit to advancing Truth and Reconciliation through our collective actions.

We recognize the ongoing and historical harms of failed drug policy on many people and communities.

We seek to right these historical wrongs by supporting positive change.

We are inclusive, non-partisan and united by a desire to see equity for people who use drugs.

We work to understand all perspectives on harm reduction and to challenge the stigma around these services.

The principle of ‘Nothing About Us, Without Us’

underpins our efforts to seek guidance from people who use drugs and people with recent lived addiction experience. We want to be an effective ally for people dedicating their lives to drug policy reform.

We acknowledge the bedrock of harm reduction philosophy on which many of our livelihoods are built.

For example, alcohol and cannabis have regulated content, serving regulations, legal purchasing age, label declarations, good manufacturing practices, and quality assurance.

We believe in human rights

and understand that colonization, racism, and criminalization have created unjust systems of inequities that impact individuals’ rights and freedoms. We work to be anti-oppressive.
